Once, on the opposite side of the bridge, stood the immense Lodge Mill which sadly burned down many years ago. On this side is the ever popular Barden Mill(give yourself a good hour to look round)..Canal pleasure cruises operate from here in season.Follow the country lane for approx 1mile and directly facing you at the T-junction is the charming Fence-Gate Inn. This is the best area to start from if you wish to immerse yourself in the infamous pendle witches or,if you prefer, the antique centre trail.

What a pleasant day out, Barden Mill benefits from having a decent investment put into it! A 100 boat mooring, the Kingfisher cafe with outside tables overlooking the marina. A choice of reasonably priced meals, a pleasant environment, (licenced bar). The mill is a nice clean environment with many bargains to be had.
