many years ago back in the 70's maybe around 1975 I came fishing her during the holidays when the old tate and lyles was still there, ws there not a bridge with steps leading down to the canal were the basin ends?
The canal used to go on for another half a mile towards the city centre, ending where Leeds St is today. Perhaps the bridge went when they filled in that section.
