Possible site of an old lock.
THIS WAS ONCE A SWING BRIDGE. WHEN I GREW UP AROUND HERE IN THE 60'S THE BRIDGE HAD ALREADY BEEN REMOVED.
This pound has been drained 4 times in the last 2 weeks leaving our 100 yr old dutch barge on the bottom of the canal. Locks have been fixed but it is still draining out. We have now had to move to Tarleton on the Rufford Branch to be sure there is ALWAYS water in the canal! Will this ever get fixed.
