On the opposite bank and either side of the swing bridge were the Crane Works. In the giant sheds starting in 1820, all kinds of steam, then electic and diesel powered cranes were contructed. On the towpath side is the entrance to the Rodley Nature Reserve - opening times are displayed - making good use of a meandering river and the old Water Works - http://john.digitalred.net/rodley/
