Walking between Holden swing bridge 193 and Brunthwaite swing bridge you will see Howden Grange Farm to the NE. Holden Beck runs past the farm and underneath the canal. Look out for the stonework of the aqueduct and a little stone stile on the towpath. Descend the pathway to the beck and arch of the aqueduct and look out for a fine pair of limekilns set into the bank. Still in very good condition, although the roof lining to one has fallen due to tree root penetration. these were probaly buit around the same time as this canal section and the aqueduct (1773)
