Before the new housing was built at this point, there used to be an old wooden Ice Breaker boat at the offside bank with the hull submerged. There was also an overhanging willow tree that made the once rural view quite picturesque.
Looking at this picture whillst tied up on the very spot. There's a good view in the opposite direction, across farm land, to distant hills. A nice spot, just above greenberfield locks.
