This part of the 'pedestrian way', as also used by many cyclists these days, once looked like a jungle. Improvements have included the cutting-back of vegetation (as seen), and the laying of hardcore on the footpath. This is most likely a tribute to all organisations who endeavour to maintain safe access to all on who venture out on shank's mare.
